We offer a high standard of accommodation in an area of outstanding beauty, with a relaxing atmosphere and a warm friendly welcome on our working family farm. Treat yourself to our delicious cooked breakfast with eggs from our own free range hens, then maybe spend time in our conservatory over looking the lawn where you are welcome to relax and watch the abundance of wildlife and countryside views, or simply unwind in our guest lounge.

We are on the Reivers Cycle Route and offer a warm and relaxing overnight stop to all those making the journey. If you are walking Hadrian's Wall we will pick you up in the evening and return you to your starting point after breakfast. We can even provide a delivery and pick up service to and from the local hostelry to allow you to enjoy a pint of beer.

Oak Tree Farm is a working farm, surrounded by fields and wonderful countryside. Of particular interest are the rare breed of sheep that we keep. They are zwartbles which originate from the Friesland area of Holland. They are a strikingly handsome black sheep with a distinctive white blaze and are naturally tame.   Guests are welcome to wander around and see the cattle, sheep, poultry, horses and ponies. Alex also trains border collies to work with sheep. Children may even like to collect eggs or feed a lamb at certain times of the year. The bed and breakfast has many beautiful walks nearby, where you will often see pheasant, hares, rabbits and the occasional deer.

Oak Tree Farm stands in approximately twenty acres of its own grounds adjacent to the raised bog of Bolton Fell Moss which is a Special Area of Conservation with many plants, animals and insects peculiar to this particular environment.

Set in very peaceful open countryside, with panoramic views to the Cumberland Wastes and Solway Plain, Oak Tree Farm is an idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - yet all local holiday attractions from Hadrian's Wall, The Lake District, Kielder Water & Forest Park, Solway Coast, Gretna and South West Scotland, market town of Brampton and the regional shopping centre of Carlisle can be easily reached from the farm’s central location.
